Greetings WICT SoCal:
What an honor it is to serve as President of the Southern California Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications this year. We have incredible momentum following what was perhaps the best LEA Awards in its 25-year history, last November. Accolades go to the LEA Event Chair, Karen Williams, and last year’s Chapter President, Beth Bayer and board for capping off the year with this outstanding event.
With the climate in Hollywood and around the country supercharged, women, more than ever, are looking for ways to come together to share ideas, concerns and goals, to support each other, to be heard and move forward together. WICT provides an arena and network for women to come together and make an impact.
WICT's mission is to create women leaders who transform our industry. We educate, empower and advocate on behalf of women in media. We have a strong programming lineup this year to accomplish these goals, from professional development panels and leadership breakfasts to networking events and mentorship roundtables.
I am thrilled to be able to work together with a fantastic group of women and men on the Board. We plan to break records on membership and attendance at events by featuring top industry leaders and bringing together various women's organizations in media, film, music, technology and more here in Southern California.
We are already off to a strong start with a sold out Kickoff Membership Mixer in L.A. on March 15th, the first of three, followed by San Diego on March 28 and Burbank in April.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our board members to ask any questions, sign up for a committee or share ideas. Here is to a great 2018!
President, WICT SoCal Chapter
